Report to: Head of Research

Key Responsibilities: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Manager to join our team at Vietcap. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills with expertise in analyzing industry trends, evaluating company performance, and generating actionable investment insights.

• Perform equity research with a focus on the Consumer sector, including determination of intrinsic and relative equity values of companies, and write investment recommendations and sector strategy reports

• Responsible for updates and publication of sector coverage including management of analysts in charge of designated sectors
• Responsible for training and coaching of Research department analysts in fundamental analysis of business operations, analysis of financial statements, presentation and report structuring and writing of equity research reports
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients including but not limited to Vietcap’s local brokerage, domestic and foreign institutional clients
• Engage in public relations and marketing activities to promote the company’s image and reputation including presentation in seminars, writing media articles, appearing on television and financial talk shows
• Other tasks as assigned by the Head of Research.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, banking or economics
• MBA or CFA is an asset
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in equity research, with a focus on the consumer sector. Direct working experience at a consumer company in a financial role and/or analyzing the consumer sector will be an advantage
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team of analysts
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
• Deep understanding of the Vietnamese consumer market and its regulatory environment.
• Strong financial analysis and professional writing skill
• High integrity, professionalism and well organized
• Fluency in written and oral Vietnamese and English is a must
• Flexible and able to work under intense pressure is a must
• Willing and able to travel whenever required.
