The VN-Index surged 1.1% (+13.8 pts) on Monday to close the trading day at 1,240.1. Large-cap real estate stocks led the market’s rise as trading resumed after the national holiday last week. Across the index, there were 233 gainers, 85 laggards, and 73 unchanged stocks. Total trading volume decreased from the previous trading day to USD554.6mn.
* Real estate stocks VHM (+4.3%), VIC (+2.9%), BCM (+4.5%), VRE (+5.3%), KDH (+3.0%), and KBC (+3.7%) posted strong gains.
* In banking, VCB (-0.3%), LPB (-1.2%), and HDB (-1.2%) declined while BID (+0.9%), CTG (+0.4%), TCB (+0.8%), VPB (+0.3%), and STB (+1.0%) gained.
* Basic materials stocks performed well as GVR (+4.9%), DGC (+3.1%), DCM (+5.0%), DPM (+4.3%), and HPG (+0.8%) advanced.
