China announced major steps towards reopening. On December 26, China announced that the country will drop quarantine requirements for all inbound travelers and will remove restrictions on numbers of international flights and passenger capacity, effective from January 8, 2023. Previously, on December 7, China released a set of 10 measures to lift COVID-19 restrictions.
