Market wrap: VN-Index sees no material change

The VN-Index saw no material change on Tuesday, declining by only half a point (-0.04%) to finish the trading day at 1,226.3 before the market closes for Vietnam's five-day national holiday. Across the index, there were 226 gainers, 274 laggards, and 72 unchanged stocks. Total trading volume increased from the previous trading day to USD596.5mn. 

* Only four large-cap bank stocks gained today: CTG (+0.9%), TCB (+1.2%), ACB (+0.4%), and TPB (+0.7%). VCB (-0.3%), MBB (-0.6%), LPB (-0.8%), and HDB (-0.2%) declined, and BID and VPB were unchanged.  

* In real estate, BCM (-1.3%), KDH (-1.3%), and PDR (-1.9%) plunged, while VRE (+2.4%), KBC (+1.3%), and SIP (+1.6%) surged.  

* Tech stocks struggled as FPT (-0.1%), CMG (-0.5%), SGT (-0.3%), SAM (-1.0%), and ELC (-1.6%) fell.  

* Other noteworthy laggards included beer producer SAB (-6.1%), steelmaker HPG (-0.6%), airline VJC (-3.5%), and oil & gas company BSR (-0.6%).
