The VN-Index rose 0.4% (+5.8 pts) on Friday to close the trading week at 1,371.4. The index saw a net gain of 1.6% for the week. Across the index, there were 157 gainers, 137 laggards, and 69 unchanged stocks. Total trading volume declined from the previous trading day to USD724.3mn.
* Consumer goods were the standout sector, as MSN (+6.7%) jumped, and VNM (+2.5%), PNJ (+1.2%), SBT (+1.3%), and VHC (+2.1%) surged.
* In real estate, VHM (+1.3%), BCM (+1.4%), VRE (+1.2%), and KDH (+0.7%) posted strong gains. NVL (-1.0%) fell.
* Performance among banks was mixed. BID (+1.1%) surged, and VCB (+0.5%), VPB (+0.8%), LPB (+0.5%), and HDB (+0.5%) gained. MBB (-0.8%) and TCB (-0.3%) fell as STB (-1.0%), SHB (-1.1%), and EIB (-1.3%) plunged.
* Notable gainers from other sectors included retailer MWG (+2.0%), basic materials firm DGC (+2.3%), tech company CMG (+7.0%), logistics company VTP (+3.2%), and oil & gas company PLX (+0.7%).
