On Monday, the VN-Index edged up by 2.5 points (+0.2%) to open the week at 1,103.7. There were mixed results across sectors as the session closed with 203 gainers, 314 laggards, and 98 stocks going unchanged. Total trading volume sharply decreased from last Friday to USD701.8mn.
* VCB (+0.6%), BID (+0.6%), and VPB (+1.0%) helped boost the session into positive territory. Fellow banks CTG (-0.5%), TCB (-0.5%), and MBB (-1.1%) fell.
* Real estate stocks were mostly up but the only blue-chip gainer among them was VIC (+1.2%). VHM (0.0%) and BCM (0.0%) were flat while VRE (-1.1%) decreased.
* MSN (-0.8%) and SAB (-1.1%) dropped for consecutive sessions and VNM (-1.0%) declined for a third straight day.
* GAS (-0.5%) fell and HPG (+0.6%) rebounded slightly from its fall in the previous session.
