The recent surge by the VN-Index took a breather Wednesday as the market fell a modest 1.42 points, or 0.2%, to 649.46, the first down day in the last eight sessions. GAS (-1.5%) was the top contributor to the loss after Brent crude slumped to below USD48/bbl in overnight trading. Other energy names, such as PVD (-1.9%) and PVS (-0.5%), also sold off, along with VCB (-1.0%), VNM (-0.7%), CTG (-1.2%) and MSN (-0.7%).
