The VNI increased by 0.58% to 1,103.87 in the last trading session of 2020. Despite a sharp decline in the first half of the year amid the appearance of the Covid-19 pandemic, the VNI recovered strongly towards the end of the year and achieved a gain of 14.9% YoY. Financial stocks, including TCB (+5.4%), VPB (+2.2%), BID (+1.4%), BVH (+1.5%), SSI (+5.1%) and VCI (+4.3%) contributed most to the VNI's gain.
