The VN-Index opened July by increasing 2.2% on Wednesday, ending a streak of six negative sessions, as some major banks cut interest rates and Vietnam’s headline PMI bounced back in June. Bank tickers experienced big gains on the day. VCB (+3.0%) was the leading contributing gainer, followed by BID (+3.4%). VPB (+5.6%) and CTG (+3.5%) were also among the day’s top 10 contributing gainers. All three Vingroup tickers jumped: VIC (+2.2%), VHM (+1.8%) and VRE (+6.6%).
