On the first day back following an extended break for Tet Holiday, the VN-Index suffered its biggest single-day percentage loss since April 26, 2018, as it plunged 3.2% on Thursday. Investors sold shares due to concerns that the coronavirus – which is currently disrupting China’s economy – may have a negative impact on the Vietnamese economy. VCB (-4.8%) was the leading contributing decliner, followed by BID (-5.0%).
