On Thursday, the VN-Index experienced its biggest single-day decline in five months as it plunged 1.3%. In addition, the index closed at 987.89 points, which is a one-month low and first time the index has closed below the 1,000-point level since October 29. Throughout the Asia Pacific region, markets declined following reports that the US and China might not reach a trade deal before the end of 2019. VCB (-2.2%) was the leading contributing decliner for the second day in the row.
