VN-Index falls for third day, but closes up for the week. After reaching a 10-month high earlier this week, the VN-Index slid for a third straight day on Friday as bank stocks sold off. The index dropped 4.39 points, or 0.7%, to 614.81. While today's declines may be continuing profit taking after strong gains earlier in the week, we also had some macro news today indicating some slowing, which we discuss below.
