Stocks scratched out a small gain on Tuesday after the index, just as it did last week, bounced off technical support of the 50-day moving average at 672 in the morning session. BVH (+2.3%) helped lead financials higher after reporting strong Q3 earnings late yesterday, however, losses by STB (-3.6%), CTG (-0.6%) and VCB (-0.3%) kept the sector's advance in check. HT1 hit the trading ceiling, extending a two-day 12.5% surge, after restating profit for FY15 (see our note below).
