VN-Index drops as energy, financials sag. Stocks closed out the week on a low note. In the morning session, the index jumped to above 665, but momentum quickly waned and the market closed down 2.44 points, or 0.4%, to 658.68. The largest contributor to the pullback was GAS (-1.5%), which was undermined by the overnight fall in Brent crude oil to below USD47/bbl. PVD (-2.3%), a classic vehicle for oil price speculation, was also a victim of renewed signs of oil price weakness.
