VN-Index closes week on upswing, near eight-year high. Local stocks shook off a sharp drop on Monday to finish the week on a four-day winning streak. On Friday, the index traded above 690 in both the morning and afternoon sessions before fading into the close, ending up 1.77 points, or 0.3%, to 687.00. The market rose 0.5% this week, reversing last week's 0.3% drop and is poised to test an eight and a half year high of 688.55 next week.
