The VN-Index advanced four tenths of a percent on Monday to hit a 13-month high. Notably, the VN30 Index jumped 1% on strong buying demand for blue-chip stocks. Trading volume on HOSE was strong at USD454.6mn — well above the one-month average of USD348.4mn. VHM (+2.7%) climbed to a five-month high and was the leading contributor to the day’s gain. Steelmaker HPG (+5.0%) extended its hot streak. Since the beginning of November, the company’s share price has soared nearly 23%.
