On Monday, the VN-Index jumped 1.5% and hit a 15-week high as the official ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) (see more above) had a positive impact on investor sentiment. In addition, trading activity was strong with USD361.4mn traded on HOSE. BID (+4.5%) was the leading contributor to the day’s gain, reaching a 13-week high. Since hitting a one-year low of VND83,700 on March 23, VNM’s (+3.0%) share price has surged more than 46%.
