On Thursday, the VN-Index posted its first gain since December 12 as it closed up by a tenth of a percent. VCB (+1.5%) was the leading contributor to the day’s gain for the second day in a row. Fellow bank BID (+0.5%) hit a five-week high. On the other hand, most other banks suffered. TCB (-1.5%) was the leading contributing decliner as it sunk to a three-month low. In addition, MBB (-1.4%) hit its lowest point since August 20 while EIB (-2.1%) dropped to a six-week low.
