Moody's: Vietnamese Bank Asset Quality Improves. Impaired loans were estimated at 6.8% of total lending at end-2016 in 15 Vietnamese banks rated by Moody’s. Moody’s estimate is close to IMF’s estimate, which sees Vietnamese impaired loans fall to 8.4% of total loans at end-2016 vs 12.7% in mid- 2015. Improvement in asset quality is credit positive for Vietnamese banks.
