Credit growth remains strong in Q1 but shows signs of slowing. According to the National Financial Supervisory Commission (NFSC), credit grew 3.5% YTD during Q1 2018, slightly lower than 4.3% growth recorded in Q1 2017 (GSO previously estimated the credit growth was 2.23% as of March 20, 2018 vs 2.81% as of March 20, 2017). Deposit growth trailed behind at 3% YTD, which led the system LDR to edge up to 88.2% from 87.8% at the end of 2017.
