The VN-Index climbed for the second day in a row, gaining four tenths of a percent to close at 1,299.31 on Friday as trading turnover on HOSE remained muted at just USD671.60mn. The index fell 3.5% for the week, marking its second straight weekly loss. VIC (+3.7%) was the day’s top contributing gainer as it recorded its first increase since July 7. Meanwhile, Vingroup subsidiaries VHM (-1.2%) and VRE (-1.1%) decreased.
