The market starts the month in red amid fears that the 5% electricity price increased announced over the weekend could put further pressure on already struggling businesses. Monday also marked the first day market orders were effective but the new process had little impact on trading. The VNI closed at 419.3, down 0.73% while the HNI closed at 70.09 (-1.38%). Trading on the combined bourses slid to under VND850 billion.
