Market wrap: Large caps, banks lead stocks to third day of gains. The VN-Index advanced for a third day of gains, closing up 1.5% on Monday to its highest level of the month. Trading value on HOSE was moderate at USD164mn. Strong gains among large-cap tickers VHM (+4.3%), GAS (+2.5%) and VJC (+5.1%) were the top contributors to the day's gain. Banks also outperformed, led by BID (+6.1%), which has soared 22% since July 5, along with VCB (+1.4%), VPB (+3.4%) and HDB (+5.4%).
