Foreign pressure “snuffed out” yesterday’s uptrend, weighing down the index 9 points to close at 565.2 points amid the rising likelihood of a December rate hike. Foreigners net sold more than USD 14.5m today and notched up a 7 day selling streak with the main drivers being ETF fund certificate redemptions. Large caps that have large weights in the Vietnam ETFs such as VIC (-1.4%), VCB (-3.9%) and PVD (-3.3%) all took the brunt of the foreign sell off.
