The VN-Index jumped half a percent on Thursday as the market extended a 2.8% rally over the last seven days. The index fell a tenth of a percent in August for just its second monthly loss so far this year. BID (+7.0%) surged to its trading ceiling amid investor speculation that a South Korean bank may invest in BID, though BID has not officially commented on the rumor. CTG (+2.7%), MBB (+2.4%) and STB (+2.2%) also pushed the market higher.
