Q2 2026 and H1 2026 business segment highlights
Brokerage
- Brokerage recorded Q2 2026 revenue of VND217bn (USD8.2mn; 29% lower than Q1 2026 – VND306bn) and PBT of VND60bn (USD2.3mn; 54% lower than Q1 2026 – VND131bn). For H1 2026, brokerage recorded revenue of VND523bn (USD19.8mn; 36% higher than H1 2025 – VND385bn) and PBT of VND191bn (USD7.2mn; 40% higher than H1 2025 – VND137bn). The quarter-on-quarter decline in brokerage revenue was mainly driven by softer market liquidity in Q2 2026 following an exceptionally active Q1 2026. The average daily trading value in Q2 2026 was USD0.92bn, 31% lower compared to USD1.33bn in Q1 2026. For H1 2026, the average daily trading value was USD1.11bn, 36% higher than in H1 2025 (USD0.82bn).
- Vietcap ranked fourth on HOSE in Q2 2026 with brokerage market share of 7.00%, easing from 7.35% in Q1 2026 but up from 6.55% market share in full-year 2025.
Margin Lending
- Margin lending recorded revenue of VND481bn in Q2 2026 (USD18.2mn; 9% higher than Q1 2026 – VND441bn) and PBT of VND134bn (USD5.0mn; 56% higher than Q1 2026 – VND86bn). For H1 2026, margin lending recorded revenue of VND922bn (USD34.8mn; 63% higher than H1 2025 – VND567bn) and PBT of VND219bn (USD8.3mn; 2% higher than H1 2025 – VND215bn). Revenue growth was driven by a higher average margin lending balance as well as a higher effective lending yield during the quarter.
- Vietcap’s margin lending balance reached a new record-high of VND17,146bn (USD647.0mn) as of end-June 2026, compared to VND16,613bn (USD624.6mn) at end-March 2026. Vietcap’s margin lending balance to total equity ratio stood at 1.0x as of end-June 2026.
Investment Banking
- Investment banking recorded revenue of VND22bn in Q2 2026 (USD0.8mn; compared with VND48bn in Q1 2026 and VND2bn in Q2 2025). For H1 2026, investment banking recorded revenue of VND70bn (USD2.6mn; compared with VND15bn in H1 2025) and PBT of VND44bn (USD1.6mn; compared with a net loss of VND6bn in H1 2025). The strong year-on-year improvement reflects advisory fees recognized during H1 2026, including, among others, the initial public offering (IPO) of Hoa Phat Agriculture Development and Vietcap's role as exclusive sell-side advisor on the acquisition of the remaining 51% stake in Hop Tri by Summit Agro International (a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation).
Investment
- Investment recorded Q2 2026 revenue of VND471bn (USD17.8mn; 26% lower than Q1 2026 – VND633bn) and PBT of VND66bn (USD2.5mn; 57% lower than Q1 2026 – VND154bn). The quarter-on-quarter decline was mainly driven by less favorable market conditions in Q2 2026, as market liquidity contracted 31% from Q1 2026 and the market underwent a broad correction late in the quarter. In Q2 2026, Vietcap made several trades in MWG, VPB, FPT, HPG, and MBB, among others.
- For H1 2026, investment recorded revenue of VND1,103bn (USD41.6mn; 3% higher than H1 2025 – VND1,072bn) and PBT of VND220bn (USD8.3mn; broadly flat compared to H1 2025 – VND220bn).
